Mixed sets exist to make a table look interesting. Single-colour sets exist to make a group look like one thing. The moment you need eight people to be recognisable as a unit from the far side of a field, every extra shade in the box works against you. That is the whole reason this shelf exists separately from our trays.
Blue is the school night default and holds its edge under floodlight. Green carries both the March holiday and the December one, and reads further across a dark lawn than anything else we make. Yellow is the high-visibility shade and goes to whoever needs to be seen first. Orange owns the last week of October and the fall festivals either side of it.
Each band in every set carries its own button and cycles steady, fast flash and slow flash. A row on steady looks painted on. The same row switched to fast flash reads as movement from a distance, which is what you want at the moment something happens on the pitch. Nothing is synchronised, so a row can hold one mode while two people on the end run another.
Whichever shade you pick, the hardware underneath is identical: about 10.3 inches unfolded, 8.7 inches closed, an inch wide, with a lit section of roughly 5.7 inches. Two cells fitted, one spare per band, and roughly fifteen to twenty hours of steady light. Buying a second colour later means buying the same object in a different shade, not a different product.
Older children, teenagers and adults. The band closes at 8.7 inches, which sits comfortably on a ten-year-old and still fastens on most adult wrists, but it is loose on a toddler and we do not recommend it there. Battery compartments should be checked shut before anyone puts a set on, and young children should be supervised while they wear one.
Every bracelet here is its own controller: one button, no remote, no app and no sound trigger. Please check each battery door is fully shut before an event and keep spare cells away from small children, who should be supervised while wearing a band. The security of a lit wrist is worth a great deal in a dark room, but it is not a substitute for reflective clothing beside a road.
It stays on the wrist, it needs no hands, and it works for roughly fifteen to twenty hours on a steady setting. For a group that has to stay together in the dark, that beats a torch that gets put down and a glow stick that fades after an hour.
Yes, and the single-colour sets get reused more than anything else we make, because a school keeps the same colours year after year. Switch the band off, keep the spare cell with it, and it comes out of the drawer working next season.
An LED strip inside a woven band is powered by two coin cells at the clasp. One button cycles steady, fast flash and slow flash. Each band is controlled on its own wrist, so there is nothing to pair and nothing to charge.
On this shelf, blue moves first through the school year, orange spikes hard in October, green takes both March and December, and yellow sells steadily all summer and to anyone organising a walk after dark.
